Young professional promotion

The research unit will provide an interdisciplinary and supportive learning environment enabling the exchange of experiences and knowledge between academics at different career stages. The aim is to support doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers in their professional advancement. They will receive training in relevant fields also providing opportunities to share experiences and establish a professional network with other early career scientists, as well as with experienced colleagues.

Furthermore, the research unit aims to spark the interest of university students from other disciplines (e.g. social sciences, public health) who are actively involved in health inequalities research. The research unit offers the possibility to obtain a doctoral degree in the different projects. PhD students will learn to conduct high-quality, state-of-the-art research and to present their research to a broader audience. Postdoctoral researchers will receive support for strengthening their expertise.

In order to accomplish these goals, the following measures will be put into place:

  1. Internal colloquia
  2. Project-specific workshops
  3. Summer schools
  4. Research visits
